This poem was written over the Christmas holidays back in 2011 when I stayed a few days at my parent’s house. I’d sit in the kitchen window watching the little birds dancing back and forth from the feeder to the trees. It was so cute and they inspired me to get my notebook out and write a little poem. I haven’t done that in ages as you can tell from the date of this poem! Maybe I’ll start writing a few new poems for later blog posts? I’m sure when spring rolls around it will give me lots to write about. Until then please enjoy this one.
During 2014 I posted a series of blog posts called “12 Things I Learned in the Forest.” These stories were so fun to write and really gave me a chance to reflect on my time growing up in a forest. Each story featured a lesson that helped me grow into the person I am today. At the time these little adventures didn’t seem like a lesson but more of just a fun day out in the woods with my family. Now that I’m older I’ve found a lot more meaning in those early evening walks or Sunday afternoon hikes down our forest trail.
This Christmas I received the most creative, personal and inspiring gift ever! This is something that needs to be shared as only a few people I know truly understood the power of this gift.
Oh my dear! It’s 2015 and I’m ready for another great year of adventures! I’m feeling more creative than ever and I’ve made lots of goals for this new year. I love making a list and trying my best to follow it throughout the year.
